The Other Half

Some good stories can be had by writing about the other half. Put yourself in someone else's shoes and write what you think is going on in their lives. Then, compare that to what is really happening in your life and then discuss the reality of the other half as it really is.

I know that sounds confusing, but this would make for some good topics. Put yourself on the French Riviera. Be a young, wholesome sunbather on the beach and describe the rivulets of sweat that travel the length of your body. This could be quite seductive. Then, wake up and see yourself as you really are. Write it like a "Dallas" episode where the whole season was a dream.

Take the same scenario and get inside the head of the person. In the first instance, we were more of an observer. This person is really sitting on the beach sunbathing because she has no where else to go. She has had such bad luck in relationships that she's liable to bite the head off of the next male that looks at her. Beware of the tigress.

There are so many possibilities. A pie can be sliced into so many slivers and any one of those slivers would be worth a write. What does your slice of the pie tell you today?
